Political socialization is the process of acquiring beliefs and opinions abut the political system. 2.     How does it differ in authoritarian and democratic states? In democratic states, it is more natural and education is provided but not forced. But in authoritarian states the beliefs about the political system are taught and people are forced to adhere to or suffer consequences. 3.     Compare and contrast factors influencing political culture in China, Iran, Mexico, and the UK. In the UK and Mexico, they have similar factors that influence the political socialization. There is education available and there is the freedom to learn and develop their own opinions about it. In China, there are the socialist values that are encouraged for children to have memorized and to believe in. The government also restricts the internet activity which enables them to hide anti-government information, or anything that isn't in line with the values of the nation. In Iran, it is a theological state so it is expected that all people believe in the religion of Islam and adhere to that. It is not as strict as China, but less free that the UK and Mexico.
